Ross Allen Emerson

South English- Ross Allen Emerson was born June 4, 1985 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His parents are Steve and Elva (Emerson) Downing. Allen enjoyed spending time with his friends and sitting around the campfire. He died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital in Marengo at the age of 30 years.

He is survived by his parents: Steve and Elva of South English; 6 children: Emma, Rae, Lucas, Gabe, Braxton and Isaiah; 5 brothers: Justin Downing and James Downing both of Georgia, Shane Emerson of Marengo, Jonathyn Downing of South English and Steve Myers of North English; grandparents: Harold and Pat Downing of Cedar Rapids and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ross and Marie Emerson; great aunt Lorrainne Wedland; uncle: John Feasel; aunt: Rita Gonnerman and a cousin Lance Wolmutt.

Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will be in the South English Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established to help with funeral expense.
