KEOTA-Rosemary Baumert, age 79, of Keota, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at her home, following a sudden illness. Rosemary was born January 1, 1929, near Kinross, Iowa, to James E. and Flora (Stevens) See. She graduated from Keota High School and attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. On February 5, 1949, she married Howard F. Baumert in Des Moines. Rosemary worked as a nurses aide at Maplewood Manor in Keota for several years and was a member of the Christian Church in Keota. Survivors include two children: Kirby Baumert and wife Debi of Jamestown, Missouri and Karla Tedder and husband Lynn of Andover, Kansas; seven grandchildren: Cody and Lexi Baumert of Jamestown, Missouri, Kristin Libby and husband Matt of Kansas City, Missouri, Kimberly Lumsden of Overland Park, Kansas, Jacqueline Lumsden of Lawrence, Kansas, Andrew Lumsden of Pittsburg, Kansas and Heidi Holton of Andover, Kansas; one sister: Dorothy Vorbau of Golden Valley, Arizona; numerous other relatives and several close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard in 1988; son Greg in 1974; son-in-law Peter Holton and five brothers: James, Aubrey, Richard, Wayne and Harold See. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2008, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota with Rev. Frances Baumert officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2008, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota. A memorial fund has been established for the Avenue of Flags at Keota Cemetery. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.
