Ronald Mullen

Wellman- Ron (Ronnie) Mullen was born August 9, 1958, in Storm Lake Iowa, the son of Peter and Marjorie (Patterson) Mullen. He graduated from Lytton High School. On March 31, 1984, Ron was united in marriage to Carol Bush at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wellman. Ron worked at the University Of Iowa Hospital and Clinics ordering food for the hospital for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed his family, westerns, muscle cars, playing Euchre, finding a good deal, teasing his grand pups, and telling stories about the old times. He was a quiet man but enjoyed joking around and had the most infectious smile. Ron passed away at his daughters home in Cedar Rapids on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the age of 63.

He is survived by two children, Ashley Mullen of Cedar Rapids and Lucas Mullen of Ankeny; a brother, Mark (Lori) Mullen of Pella; four sisters, Teresa (Tom) Meyer of Iowa City, Elaine Mullen of Des Moines, Valerie Walsh of Storm Lake, Mary Jo (Fran) Marron of Storm Lake,; five sisters-in-law, Candy Mullen of Fonda, Vicki Mullen of Sioux City, Karen (Bob) Christner of Kalona, Janice (Dennis "Gary") Groff of Millersburg, and Brenda (Merlin) Hershberger of Wellman; his mother-in-law, Donna Bush of Wellman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, brothers, Peter Mullen, John Mullen and James Mullen; a sister Jeanie Mullen, a father-in-law Don Bush, a brother-in-law Larry Walsh and a nephew Jason Walsh.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am on Friday, August 13, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wellman. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Memorial fund has been established for St. Joseph Catholic Church.
