Ronald Michael Sieren, age 67, of Keota, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington. Ron was born February 5, 1942, near Harper, to Elmer and Bernadine (Beinhart) Sieren. He graduated from St. Elizabeth High School and A.I.B. in Des Moines. Ron worked for U.S. Bank in Cedar Rapids four years, KeWash in Keota four years, was a sales rep for Monsanto five years and a sales manager for United Suppliers for 22 years, retiring in 1996. He spent his retirement years farming. On June 3, 1989, he married Eloise Jean Storm in Keokuk County. Ron was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, where he served on the Parish Council. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife: Eloise of Keota; two sons: Rick Sieren of Fairfield; Chad Sieren of Keota; a daughter: Kimberly Goudzwaard (Larry) of Cedar Rapids; a step daughter: Christine Cortimiglia of What Cheer; a step son Tracy Hervey (Kim) of Vail, AZ; six grandchildren: Maitland, Olivia and Ty Sieren; Chelsea Goudzwaard; Stephanie and Allison Hervey; mother: Bernadine Sieren of Keota; three sisters: Carol Kaalberg (Gayle) of Nichols; Sharon Galau (Larry) of Apple Valley, MN; Cindy Johnson (Don) of Fenton, MO; and a brother: Daniel Sieren (Mary) of Harper. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2009, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, where there will be a wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials are preferred for Keota Fire Department, Keota QRS or Holy Trinity Parish. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Ron and his family.
