Oxford-Ronald Charles Van Dee was born July 14, 1942 near Deep River, Iowa, the son of Charles William and Marjorie Matilda (Furney) Van Dee. He graduated from North English High School in 1960. Ron was united in marriage to Nancy Marie Teggetz on January 11, 1964 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williamsburg. The couple has lived most all of their married life on the farm southwest of Oxford. Ron has worked for Wilson Food Processing, been active in farming, Amana Refrigeration and HyVee. He enjoyed fishing, attending the State Fair yearly, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Ron was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Ron died Friday, June 9, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City of Cancer at the age of 63 years, 10 months, 26 days. Ron is survived by his wife Nancy of Oxford; a daughter: Denise (Gene) Schindler of Oxford; two grandchildren: Skyler and Shayna; his mother: Marjorie Van Dee of Williamsburg; four sisters: Colene South (Ron Brewer) of Cedar Rapids, Patricia Ritchie of Marengo, Cindy Van Dee of Williamsburg and Diane (Bill) Glenn of Oskaloosa; a brother: Dennis (Carmen) Van Dee of Williamsburg and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother: Kenneth Van Dee; a nephew: Noah Schmidt and a brother-in-law: Jim Ritchie. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Monday, June 12, 2006 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Pastor Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
