KEOTA-Ron Royer, age 77, of Keota, died Friday, March 30, 2018, at his home.
Ron was born December 15, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Henry and Lillian Royer. He received his education in Venice, California and Brown's Military Academy. In 1976, Ron married Renee LeCompte in Santa Monica, California. The couple moved to Iowa in 1978, where Ron was a buyer for Hickory Alley Antiques. He also owned and operated the Iron Horse Saloon in Riverside and Ribs Delight in Washington. Ron was an ordained minister who officiated many weddings. He and Renee renewed their wedding vows on March 19, 2008. Ron also created a game called "Money in the Heartland" and was an author of children's books.
Survivors include his wife: Renee; children: Kevin Royer and friend Linda, Steve Royer, Deborah Tinnes, Brad Royer and Josh Lynam; grandchildren: Dalton Royer, Dillon Royer, Hevin Royer, Mike Tinnes, Katheryn Speers, Hunter Royer, Hope Royer and Sydney Lynam; great grandchildren: Barrett Tinnes and Bryce Spears; sister: Iris Mears; sister-in-law: Lavonda Cardona and niece and nephews: Bianca, Taco, Marcus and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson: Devin Royer and many friends.
