Robin Lee Blaylock

North English- Robin Lee Blaylock was born March 5, 1964 in Sigourney, Iowa the son of Gary & Patricia (Montross) Blaylock. He graduated from English Valleys High School in 1983 and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College. He served in the United States Army during Desert Storm. While in the military Robin played on the Fairbanks Angels baseball team. On May 20, 1995 Robin was united in marriage to Shelly Rae Hagen at St. John's Lutheran Church, Homestead. He was a forklift operator at Kinze Manufacturing, farmed and most recently drove a produce truck. Robin was a member of the North English United Methodist Church and a past member of the Farmer's Lodge #168. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening, canning, coaching baseball and spending time with Casey. Robin died on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his home in North English at the age of 53 years.

Robin is survived by his wife Shelly; son Casey; father Gary (Sandy) Blaylock; mother Patricia "Trish" (John) Gaherty all of North English; a sister Jody Moler of Overland Park, KS; a brother David Jo (Jennifer) Blaylock of North English; two step brothers Greg (Brenda) Parmenter of LaBelle, FL and Kevin (Shelli) Parmenter of Overland Park, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his grandparents and an uncle.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Powell Funeral Home, North English. Pastor Luke Caster and Ric Gerard will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Powell Funeral Home. Memorials are for the North English Little League or National Alliance on Mental Illness.
