Robert "Jake" Jacob

Wellman- Robert "Jake" Dean Jacob was born August 21, 1942 the son of Robert Lee and Rolene (Miller) Jacob. He graduated from Mid Prairie High School in 1960. On April 6, 1963 Jake was united in marriage to Virginia Livezey at Asbury United Methodist Church. Jake worked at Oral B/ Proctor & Gamble for 40 years. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and Lions Club in Wellman. Jake enjoyed fishing, golfing, NASCAR, computer games, mowing, Hawkeye games and taking wildlife photos. Jake enjoyed life to its fullest. Jake passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic at the age of 75 years.

Jake is survived by his wife Virginia; two sons: Rick Lee Jacob and Steven Robert Jacob of Iowa City; a brother James (Barbara) Jacob of San Diego, CA; three step brothers: Randy (Sheree) Tadlock of Lone Tree; Craig (Simone) Tadlock of San Angelo, TX; and Jeff (Deanne) Tadlock of West Branch. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration Of Life Service will be held 10:00 am Friday, October 20, 2017 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A memorial fund has been established for Paws & More Animal Shelter.
