North English- Robert "Bob" Daniel Evans was born March 1, 1935 near Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Roger and Nina (Row) Evans. He attended rural school near North English, Parnell and North English High School. Bob served in the United States Army from 1957 -1959 and again from 1961-1962. Bob was united in marriage to Ruth Ann McNamee on December 15, 1961 at the St. Timothy Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. He worked at Amana Refrigeration for 35 years. Bob and Ruth lived in the Williamsburg area for 25 years and the last 13 years they have resided in North English. He was a member of the North English Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed going to fleamarkets through out the midwest and meeting new people. Bob died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife Ruth of North English; two sons: Mike (Rhonda) Evans of Tiffin and Tim Evans (Fiancee Leah) of Iowa City; two grandchildren: Tasha (Dave) Scott and David Evans; eight great grandchildren: Michael, Kaitlynn, Raven, Orion and LilliAnne Scott, Kameel, Zoee and Julianna Evans; and a brother: Ronnie (Trudy) Evans of Vinton. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Weston Evans. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg.
