Robert Erwin Weber was born on February 29, 1956, in Sigourney, Iowa, a son of Doc and Anna L. Kerkove Weber. Bob grew up in the Kinross and Wellman area. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in Wellman in 1974, and then went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps. Bob was united in marriage to Angela M. Dietze on September 24, 1983, near South English. He worked 17 years for Ayers Construction, 9 years for Cox Sanitation and several years for Passer Roofing. Bob loved Jesus and his family. He had a passion for reading and writing poetry. He was a crafter of wood and copper. His hobby was learning about and growing flowers. He had an extensive knowledge about growing things. Bob was a beautiful man with a kind and loving soul. His wishes for all he left behind were that they may have Jesus in their hearts, so we may all meet again. Bob died on Tuesday May 15, 2012, at his home in South English. He is survived by his wife Angela Weber of South English; daughters Annie (Zach) Schott of South English, and their children: Bentley, Forrest & Bella; and Alicia Moyer of South English, and her children Mallory, Brice and their daddy Jake. both of South English. Also surviving are his parents: Anna (Dale) Powers of Iowa City and Doc (Linda) Weber of Kalona; a sister Joyce (Frank) Ruplinger of Iowa City; brothers: John (Sarah) Weber and Travis (Kelly) Weber both of North Liberty. Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English, with Pastor Joe Winkler officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the South English Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice.
