Robert E Stephenson

West Branch- Robert E. Stephenson was born July 16, 1936 near What Cheer, Iowa, the son of Roy & Minnie Leora (Dawson) Stephenson. He attended What Cheer Schools and then went on to work, to help support his family. He drove truck and later worked as a custodian for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. On September 18, 1954 Robert was united in marriage to Janice LuJean Derby in Keokuk County, Iowa. Robert enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, hunting and doing crossword puzzles. He passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Branch at the age of 81 years.

He is survived by five daughters Brenda (John) Lown of Webster, Peggy (Duane) VanDee of North English, Cathy (Ron) Fry of Sigourney, Rhonda Hibler of Oskaloosa and Dana (Ron) Aubrecht of Nichols; a son Larry Stephenson of Sigourney; twelve grandchildren Jeremi (Samantha) Lown, Matthew (Danyl) Lown, Stephanie Lown, Wendy Icenbice, Josh (Sonja Anderson) Icenbice, Tyler (Leigh) VanDee, Toby Fry, R.J. (Ashley) Fry, Spencer Fry, Megan Coppess, Bryan (Holly Williams) Stephenson and Cody Aubrecht; and ten great grandchildren Keyden & Kailor Lown, Faith Lown, Dillon & Peyton Icenbice, Corbin & Charleigh VanDee, Madison & Gamble Fry and Kamryn Coppess. He was preceded by his parents; wife Janice; a son Robert Alan Stephenson; a daughter-in-law LeAnn Davis; a son-in-law Dennis Hibler; a sister Margueritte Boomershine; and four brothers Lloyd Stephenson, James Stephenson, Howard Stephenson and David Stephenson.
