Robert E. "Bobby" Huppenbauer, 72, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Arbor Court.Bob's family will host a celebration of his life on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at Geode State Park, in the beach shelter house. All friends and family are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and a favorite memory of Bob to share. According to his wishes, his body has been cremated. Born January 29, 1943, Robert Earl was the son of Clifford Earl and Irmena "Erma" Louise (Hillgartner) Huppenbauer. He received his education in Burlington school system. On December 5, 1989, he married Mary Ann Atkinson in Mt. Pleasant, IA. For 29 years Bob was employed by Eagle Foods, first in Naperville, IL, and later in Burlington, IA. Following his retirement from Eagle Foods, Bob worked as a cashier at Kum Go in Burlington and Buff's Truck Stop in Mt. Pleasant. Bob enjoyed fishing anywhere and anytime. He loved spending time with his family, especially around the dinner table on Sunday. He liked to play cards and sit outside listening to the radio and work on his fishing equipment.Along with his wife, Mary, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Bob is survived by a son, Scott Huppenbauer of El Paso, TX; six daughters, Laurie Huppenbauer of Iowa City, IA, Shelly White of Mediapolis, IA, Shelly Dean of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Sheila Orth of Salem, IA, Tina Barton of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Carrie Atkinson of Burlington, IA; a brother, Mike Huppenbauer of Burlington, IA; and a sister, Madeleine Scott of Stockton, MO. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.Bobby was preceded in death by his parents.
