Robert Downey

Robert Lloyd Downey, 68, of Salisbury, MO, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Robert was born March 22, 1956, the son of Lloyd Harper and Shirley Ann (Craig) Downey. He was united in marriage to Vickie Jo Bolender. Robert enjoyed sports; especially baseball, boxing, fishing, as well as eating fresh garden tomatoes. He was his company’s boxing champion in the US Army while he was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Ryan (Abbie) Downey, Eric Lloyd (Andrea) Downey; five grandchildren, Payton Faith Downey, Cameron Eric Downey, James Ryan Downey, Logan Dean Downey, Paige Michelle; three siblings, John Raymond Downey, JoRena Lynn (Downey) Lunde, Jeffery Lee Downey, and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Vickie, and one sibling Baby Boy Downey.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 1 pm at the Olson-Powell Chapel and Crematory in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow in the Forest Home Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
