Richard Dean Miller

North English- Richard Dean Miller was born March 15, 1935 in Green Valley, near North English, Iowa, the son of Conard Lee & Edna Adel (Churchill) Miller. He graduated from North English High School in 1953. On October 6, 1957 Richard was united in marriage to Beverly Lynn Harris at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He was a life long farmer and local mechanic. Richard was a member of the Champion Hill Church, the North English Jaycees, and the Iowa Cornbelt Oliver Corp. He served on the North English Fire Department for many years where he also served as Chief. He enjoyed restoring tractors, doing many woodworking projects for his family and friends, taking bus trips all over the US with Beverly and spending time with his beloved family. Richard died on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at the age of 83 years.

He is survived by his wife Beverly of North English; a daughter Holly (Phil) Osweiler of Williamsburg; a son Brad (Monica) Miller of North English; two grandchildren Chelsea (Spencer) Sones of Ottumwa and Rachel (fiancé Michael Yaddof) of Cedar Falls; a brother Robert (Kay) Miller of North English; a sister Betty (Jim) Trail of Tomball, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and a grandson Parker Miller.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 1:30 pm on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will be in the Champion Hill Cemetery, near North English. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-6 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Memorials may be given to the Champion Hill Church and Cemetery or the North English Community Center.
