Richard C. Davis, 66, of Hillsboro, IA died Thursday, December 30, 2010, at his home in Hillsboro. Visitation will begin after 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3rd at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hillsboro Christian Church with Pastor Dave Callan officiating. Interment will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery. A memorial has been established to Hospice of Central Iowa. Born October 31, 1944 in Kirksville, MO, Richard Carl was the son of Carl Andrew and Goldie (Barbee) Davis. Richard spent his formative years in Keosauqua and was a 1964 graduate of Van Buren High School. At the age of 20 he moved to Hillsboro and has resided there ever since. On November 26, 1964, he married Treeanon "Treats" Reinier in Hillsboro. Richard worked as a resident treatment worker at the Mental Health Institute in Mt. Pleasant for 20 years. He was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing cards and traveling. His greatest love was spending time with his family. Richard is survived by his wife, Treats of Hillsboro; twin daughters, Teresa Davis of Hillsboro, and Lisa (David) Swanson of Olds, IA; four grandchildren, Travis Davis, Wyatt Losey, Nikki Godsey and Trevor Godsey; one great-granddaughter, Emorry Davis; and two sisters, Donna Brown of Keosauqua, IA, and Betty Leafgreen of Fairfield, IA. Preceding in death were his parents; four brothers, Art, Albert, Russell and Charles Davis; one sister, Charldene Jakubowski, and two nephews.
