Richard Bauer Cable

North English- Richard Bauer Cable was born February 9, 1933 in Iowa County, Iowa, the son of Samuel S. & Marie (Bauer) Cable. He graduated from Deep River Millersburg in 1951. He served in the United States Air Force. On March 4, 1961, Richard was united in marriage to Vera Theresa Sheppard. He was a lifetime member of the Iburg Poulson VFW Post #8797 of Williamsburg and a member of the Millersburg American Legion Post #521. He enjoyed eagles and bird watching. Richard died on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Iowa City, at the age of 83 years.

He is survived by two daughters: Patty Cable and Susie Ronek; two granddaughters: Hannah Cable-Larson and Renee Sorden-Winn; two great grandchildren; two sisters Yvonne Grimm of Williamsburg and Barbara (Lee) Kreger of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law Dixie Cable of Deep River; a brother-in-law Myron Kinzler of Williamsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; wife Vera, Sister Marlys Kinzler; brother Don Cable; and a brother-in-law Eugene Grimm.

Graveside service will be held 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Millersburg Cemetery, Millersburg. A general memorial fund has been established. Powell Funeral Home, North English is in charge of arrangements. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
