Rex Allen Stout

September 17, 1938 — January 14, 2020

North English- Rex Allen Stout was born September 17, 1938 in Brighton, Iowa, the son of Ira and Mildred Stout. He graduated from Keota High School in 1957. He worked his entire life in the dairy industry for Mid American Dairymen/Dairy Farmers of America. Rex was united in marriage to Dorothy Harriman in 1980. Rex was a member of North English Christian Church. He loved fishing and boating for family time when his children were young. When he retired he had a pond built at "the farm" for family to enjoy fishing and barbecuing, while he would untangle fishing lines. If you were ever looking for him and couldn't find him, he was usually on his mower always manicuring the numerous properties he always liked to look pristine. He was always willing to lend a hand and was always there for his family.
Rex went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the in English Valley Care Center in North English, at the age of 81 years.

Rex is survived by and will be sadly missed by his wife Dorothy; daughters Bobbie (Rory) Larsen of Wooodland Park, CO and Jackie (Mark) Carlson of Newton; a son Mike (Beth) Stout of Newton; and daughter-in-law Julie Harriman of North English. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters Hazel West and Linda O'Conner; a brother Bruce Stout; his foster siblings Craig (Shirley) Conklin, Bob (Janice) Wide, Shirley Ruth Conklin and Carol Petersen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents a sister Genevive Stout; brother Keith Stout; son Terry Harriman; son-in-law Kenny Kuck; and Caroline & Clifford Conklin.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am on Friday, January 17, 2020 at the North English Christian Church. Pastor Luke Caster will officiate. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4-7 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Memorials may be given to the North English Christian Church or the North English First Responders.
