Ramona LeRue Huedepohl

Millersburg- Ramona LeRue Huedepohl, was born December 4, 1924, in Lincoln Township, Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Walter & Marie (Neitzel) Weiss. She attended St. John's Lutheran School rural Victor. On April 29, 1945, Ramona was united in marriage to Clarence Huedepohl at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Victor. She helped on the farm and worked for over 20 years at the English Valley Care Center. She lived in the Millersburg area for many years before moving to Highland Ridge in July of 2014. Ramona was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Millersburg, the Trinity Ladies Aid and was a Deep-River Millersburg Booster Club member. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting, reading, attending her grandchildren's activities and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan. Ramona died on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the age of 89 years.

She is survived by two daughters: Joyce (Michael) Glaser of Omaha, NE and Gloria (Dan) Harrington of Alpine, CA; a son Steve (Mary) Huedepohl of Parnell; five grandchildren; a sister Doris Heitshusen of Lazerne; a brother Eldon (Doris) Weiss of Marengo; and a sister-in-law Darlene Reed of Williamsburg. She was preceded by her parents; husband Clarence; a sister Beata Sandersfeld; and a brother LeRoy Weiss.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. Pastor Gary Sears will officiate. Burial will be in the Millersburg Cemetery, Millersburg. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
