Ramona Jean Heller, age 65 of Marengo, IA, formerly of Casper WY, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City. A public graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo with Pastor Kolleen Queener officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Kloster Funeral Home 298 W. Washington St. Marengo, Iowa 52301. Masks and social distancing will be required. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with local arrangements.
She is survived by her husband Richard D. Heller; two sons, Richard A. Heller (Erin) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Steven E.L. Heller (Laura) of Papillion, NE; four grandchildren, Alexander R. Heller, Elliott J. Heller (Papillion), Natalie A. Heller, and Lucas R. Heller (Cedar Rapids). Also surviving are mother; Frances E. Hanson; two brothers Steven W. Hanson (Shianne) and Dale E. Hanson (Kathy) of Casper, WY. She was preceded in death by her father Elmer M. Hanson, and her brother Melvin L. Hanson.
Ramona Jean Hanson was born April 20, 1955 in Rawlins, WY, the daughter of Elmer Hanson and Frances Hanson. She received her education in Casper, WY and attended high school at Natrona County high school in Casper. She then went on to receive her bachelor's degree from the University of Wyoming. Later in life she continued her education to achieve her Master’s degree in Business Administration, and her PMP certification. Ramona Jean Hanson and Richard Daniels Heller were married on June 17, 1973 in Casper. Ramona finished her career at TransAmerica as a Global Project Manager.
Upon retirement she enjoyed spending more time with family and friends as well as traveling, canning, baking, cooking and the many family gatherings. She was a very active member of her church, and the Republican Central Committee. Her passions included her faith, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her retired life was very busy traveling across the country to visit family and friends.
