Peter Edward Brenneman was born on April 18, 1981 in Denver, Colorado, the beloved son of James and Dianne Brenneman and Rebecca Wyse. He graduated from West High School in Iowa City, Iowa and attended City College of San Francisco, California where he accrued credits toward the completion of a construction management degree. Peter had a passion for music, woodworking and drawing. His affinity with animals brought him joy and comfort over the course of his life. Peter’s dry sense of humor brought laughter to others, balanced by his ability to call a spade a spade. Peter’s family meant everything to him. His tender heart and giving spirit endeared him to friends from all walks of life. Peter passed away from a heart attack on Friday, October 18, 2024 at his Des Moines home exactly 43 years and 6 months from the date of his birth.
Peter is survived by his parents, James and Dianne Brenneman, and Rebecca Wyse, of Iowa City, Iowa; a brother, David Brenneman, of San Francisco, California; a grandfather, Lynn Brenneman, of Kalona, Iowa; a nephew, Ethan Brenneman, of San Francisco, California; and his beloved dog, Eve (“Evaletta”). Peter was preceded in death by grandparents Mary Brenneman, Mahlon Wyse, Frances Wyse, and by his much beloved first dog, Oliver.
