KEOTA-Paul J.Weber, age 86, of Keota, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, at his home in Keota from thymic carcinoma. Paul was born November 13, 1926, in Clear Creek Township, to John B. and Caecilia (Peiffer) Weber and attended Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Clear Creek Township. He served in the Army Air Corps from June of 1945 until November of 1946. Paul then worked at Amana Refrigeration for a few years. On July 11, 1953, he married Ardys Claypool at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kinross. The couple lived and farmed in the Kinross area until moving to Keota in 1985. Paul was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the American Legion. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors, collecting and repairing clocks and pocket watches, auctions and visiting with anyone and everyone. Survivors include his wife: Ardys of Keota; nine children: Nancy Feaker of North English, Cindy Weber of Keota, Bill (Jane) Weber of Kinross, Peggy Weber of Keota, Andy (Gail) Weber of Sigourney, Carol (Brian) Engnell of Lynn Center, Illinois, Mary (David) Fagen of Keota, Joe Weber of Keota and Laura (Bryan) Hahn of Sigourney; 14 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers: Isidore "Doc" (Linda) Weber of Kalona and Tony (Jane) Weber of Washington; three sisters: Rita (Leon) Vogel of Keota; Martha Kleinmeyer of Iowa City and Celeste Woltering of Keota and three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Weber of Washington, Virginia Weber of Sigourney and Kathleen Sawyer of Sigourney. He was preceded in death by his parents; son: David; daughter in infancy; sister: Bernadine Conklin and seven brothers: Norbert, Wilfrid Ed, Luke, Mark, Clete and Clare. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Little Creek Cemetery in rural Kinross. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a wake service at 4:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Holy Trinity Parish or Keokuk County Hospice.
