Paul Joseph Schneekloth

Paul Joseph “P.J.” Schneekloth, age 71, of East Amana, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Funeral service: 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2019, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with Elder Jon Childers officiating. Burial will be in the East Amana Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in P.J.’s name.

P.J. is survived by his wife Lisa; six children Tammy (Jeff) Tronvold, of Cedar Rapids, Todd Schneekloth, of Lawrence, KS, Terri (Vance) Nunemaker, of Ely, Dani (Mario) Martinez, of Denver, CO, Bree Schneekloth, of Denver, CO, and John Nagel, of Anchorage, AK; 13 grandchildren Carissa, Terra, Tyler, Tanner, Torri, Aleah, Jayci, Isaac, Gavin, Mackenzie, Anthony, Kennan and Holland; three great-grandchildren Emmett, Brooks and Hayes; three sisters Judy (Harvey) White, of Arizona, Carol Ann (Don) Mason, of Marengo and Becky (Mike) Albert, of Atkins; and his father and mother-in-law David and Shirley Childers. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Shawn Mason.

P.J. was born October 5, 1947 in Marengo, the son of Paul W. and Juanita B. (McWilliams) Schneekloth. He attended the Iowa Valley School district. P.J. married Kay Roberts and were blessed with three children Tammy, Todd and Terri. They later divorced. P.J. married Jane Greene and they were blessed with two children Dannielle and Bree. Following their divorce, he married Lisa Nagel on March 12, 1997 in AZ. The couple made their home in East Amana. P.J. worked in construction, as a mechanic and in food service. He enjoyed racing hobby stock and stock car, on dirt tracks. P.J. helped many race car drivers, getting them started in racing and working on their cars.
