Paul H Hochstedler

Paul Howard Hochstedler was born May 29, 1926 in Kalona, Iowa, the son of Emmet and Annie (Yoder) Hochstedler. On January 6, 1951 he was united in marriage to Mary A. Yoder in LaGrange County Indiana. He farmed and did mission work in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Belize, Arkansas, Missouri before retiring to Kalona in 2008. Paul was a faithful member of the Salem Mennonite Church. He was a man of prayer and was always concerned for others. Paul died on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 90 years.
Paul is survived by his wife Mary of Kalona; a daughter Gloria Hochstedler of Kalona; and 2 brothers Eldon (Edna) Hochstedler of Cleveland, Ohio; Calvin (Shirley) Hochstedler of Kalona. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers Dale Hochstedler, Henry Hochstedler; and 2 sisters Ellen Hochstedler and Elva Hochstedler.


Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Salem Mennonite Church in rural Keota. Burial will be in the Salem Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Salem Mennonite Church. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is caring for Paul and his family.
