KALONA - Paul Emanuel Brenneman was born June 16, 1928 near Kalona, Iowa, the son of Lewis and Katie (Hochstedler) Brenneman. He passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at his home at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 4 days.
Paul was baptized in his youth in the Old Order Amish Church where he remained a faithful member until his death. Paul was united in marriage to Lois Hershberger on February 4, 1951. They lived in matrimony 60 years. She preceded him in death July 2011.
Paul is survived by 2 sisters-in-law Bertha Brenneman, Mrs. Tobias (Annie) Hershberger, 3 brothers-in-law Jonas Kinsinger, Isaac Hershberger, Henry Hershberger, 5 nephews and 3 nieces, Nathan and wife Hannah, Rebecca and husband Perry Yoder, Rudy and wife Geneva, Priscilla and husband Timothy Beachy, Marcus and wife Laura, Emma Grace and husband Herman Yoder, Aquila and wife Emma Grace, Laban and wife Delores, 61 great nieces and nephews and 36 cousins. Also preceding him in death were his parents, brother Raymond, an infant sister Margaret, 2 great nephews, a great niece, and a great great nephew.

Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 AM Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Lavern Ropp residence at 2358 560th Street SW in rural Kalona. Minister in charge is Elmer T. Miller. Burial will be in the East Union Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM on Monday and will continue all day Tuesday at the Lavern Ropp residence. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is caring for Paul and his family.
