Patricia Ann Weber

KEOTA-Patricia Ann Weber, age 78, of Keota, died Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
    Patricia was born July 17, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, to Herman and Dorothy (Dent) Johnson.  She lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho in her early years, then grew up and graduated from high school in Butte, Montana.  Patricia attended Kirkwood Community College and Cedar Rapids School of Hairstyling.  She lived in Washington and Winfield before moving to Keota in 1985.  On November 8, 1991, she married Greg Weber at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota.  Patricia worked at Joe Falk Clothing Company for 16 years before opening her own barber shop in Keota.  She retired in 1996.  She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, where she was secretary for five years.  She was known as “Grandma Pat” to many and enjoyed cutting hair and hosting friends and family.
    Survivors include her husband: Greg Weber of Keota; son: Art Hess of Iowa City; seven grandchildren: Miah (Jeremiah) Hess, Tricia Garza, Jasmine Van Patten, Jacoby Hess, Jayme Frye, Sara Hess and Jason Hess; several great grandchildren; three sisters: Margie Pascoe, Valerie Tadday and Tammy Cooper; five sisters-in-law: Patty Johnson, Sandy Williams, Sara Veerhusen, Linda McNurlen and Annette Nelson; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Kevin Hess; daughter: Alice Hess; daughter-in-law: Elizabeth “Liz” Scott Hess; brother: Herman (Skip) Johnson and sister: Jody Rayburn.

    Memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Rev. Robert Lathrop officiating.  Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Mary’s Cemetery in Keota.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a vigil service at 4:00 p.m.
