Patricia L. Piper, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, formerly of Winfield, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Arbor Court. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Daryl Jessup officiating. The family will greet friends for an hour prior to the service at the Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Winfield Scott Township Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the activity fund at Arbor Court and Camp Courageous. On line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com Born May 9, 1940, in Davis County, IA, Patricia Lucile was the daughter of Charles and Inez Kepler Piper. She attended school in Fremont, IA. Patty moved to Mt. Pleasant and became a resident of the Henry County Home in 1977. She was employed at Flex Services for a few years. For the past two years she has lived at Arbor Court. Working was important to Patty, and she especially liked to help with the activities at Arbor Court. She was fond of going out to eat, going to garage sales, and having coffee with her friends. She loved anything connected with Disney. Patty enjoyed working puzzles, quilting, collecting recipes and stuffed animals, and playing Bingo. Patty is survived by her mother, Inez Bender of Oskaloosa, IA; two sisters, Lisa Piper of Winfield, IA, and Frances Kay (Pete) Stull of San Antonio, TX; one brother, Tom (Chris) Piper of Winfield, IA; one step-brother, Carl Crill of Las Vegas, NV; and a sister-in-law, Cleda Crill of Winfield, IA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her father, Charles Piper; a brother, Bob Piper; a step-brother, Gary Crill; step-mother, Eathol Piper; and her step-father, Waldo Bender.
