Patricia J. Eash, age 65, of South English, died October 25 , 2004, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City following a lengthy illness. Patricia J. Eash was born on June 2,1939, in Oskaloosa, IA, the daughter of Elmer "Pete" and Mary (Tolles) Rice. She attended Oskaloosa High School. On June 20, 1987, she married John Eash in Ottumwa. Patricia enjoyed dogs, canning, fishing, traveling, souvenir collecting, bowling, softball and playing cards. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Patricia worked several years for Kingsbury Homes in Sigourney and for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Survivors include her husband: John Eash of South English; a daughter: Melody Lester of Oskaloosa; a son: Micheal Ferns of Indianapolis, IN; five grandsons: Michael Lester of Des Moines, Justin Ott of Ames, Bryan Ott of Oskloosa, Jarrod Lester of Oskaloosa and Jason Lester of Cedar Rapids; her mother: Mary Wells of Knoxville; two sisters: Vickie and husband Ernie Gruwell of Des Moines and Arlie Wells of Ottumwa; a son-in-law: Clifford Ott of Oskaloosa and four nieces: Tonya DenHarthog, Tina Allen, Twyla Gabel and Kerrie Gruwell. Patricia was preceded in death by her father; a son Gary Ferns in February 1991; a daughter: Alice Ott in December 2003, and two infant sisters: Eva and Juanita Rice. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Thursday, October 28, 2004, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English with Pastor Scott Young officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Keota Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, October 28, 2004, from 1:00 PM until service time at 5:00 PM.
