KEOTA-Patricia A. Sieren, age 95, of Keota, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at her home.
Patricia was born April 4, 1924, near Keswick, to Edward and Mary (Smyth) Lenaghan. She graduated from Webster High School, attended college for one year and took correspondence courses. She then taught country school for five years. On July 17, 1946, Patricia married the love of her life, Leonard Sieren, in Keswick. The couple lived and farmed in the Keota area, where they had seven children in 10 years. Patricia taught many lessons - there are never any round corners and anyone can learn to make gravy without the lumps. She was always full of life and loved to make chocolate chip cookies for/with her grandchildren. She was big on playing pepper and got very competitive. As the years progressed dominoes was her game of choice. She enjoyed watching sports on TV but being in person to watch grandchildren and great grandchildren was something she always smiled about. Religion was her main priority. She prayed daily and attending mass was a special privilege for her. Patricia had a great community surrounding her - many people gave their time to give her special enjoyment. She loved her grandchildren and could not wait to spend time with them going to the casino, shopping and enjoying their smiles. Patricia always said dogs and cats belong outside but she got a true friend Hayden who greeted her every morning with a head on her lap waiting for a bite. It was a true accomplishment - never thought we'd see the day so in essence some things can change. She started at the farm and ended at the farm. She is now in heaven still praying for all of us and dancing with her true love, Leonard. And thank you for calling!
