WILLIAMSBURG- Pat Welsh, was born February 12, 1948, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Thomas E. and Mary Ellen (Birmingham) Welsh. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. Most of his life was spent in the Williamsburg area. He has been a truck driver for Finnegan Trucking and Hummer Trucking. Pat was an avid Green Bay Packers, Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan, he enjoyed car races, Dale Earnhardt Jr., football and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Pat died on Thursday, August 21, 2008, at the Marengo Memorial Hospital in Marengo, after a brief battle with cancer, at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 9 days. He is survived by his special friend Jan Finnegan and her daughter Jennifer of Williamsburg; 2 sons- Matt (Teisha) Welsh of Robins and Scott (Jennifer)Welsh of Marion; 4 granddaughters- Hanna and Amiya Welsh of Robins, Emma and Reanne Welsh of Marion; a brother Mick (Carol) Welsh of Williamsburg; and a sister Julie (Al) Sellers of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, August 25, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williamsburg. Fr. Joseph Roost will preside. Burial will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery in Holbrook. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6 PM with a Prayer Service at 2:00 PM, at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. A general memorial fund has been established.
