Pamela "Pam" J. Benishek

Pamela (Pam) Jane Benishek, age 67, of Brooklyn, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Pamela Jane Kriegel was born on April 26, 1956, in Grinnell, Iowa, to parents, Bernard and Delores Kriegel. She received her education at HLV Schools, graduating with the class of 1974. Pam started her career at Manatt's 50 years ago. At the age of 17, she began working on the sealcoat crew with her father. Since then, advancing her career over the years, she was currently the company’s Controller.

Pam was united in marriage to Lee Benishek on October 10, 1981, in Belle Plaine, Iowa. They resided on a beautiful acreage outside of Brooklyn.

Pam is survived by her husband, Lee, two daughters Kristina (Mike) Steward and Karla (Bryan) Morrison; 5 grandchildren, Ayden Benishek, Bryston, Kynlee and Lennon Steward, and Landen Morrison all of Brooklyn; her mother, Delores Kriegel of Hartwick; siblings: Sherry Kriegel Ray of Mountain View, AR, Jeff Kriegel of Hartwick, Rod (Bambi) of Laurel, Angie (Dave) Craig of Hartwick.

She is preceded  in death by her father, Bernard and brother, Rick.

Pam’s family was her pride and joy. She loved to travel, whether it was with her husband or her family; she had quite the bucket list completed. Pam was a nature lover and enjoyed watching and feeding wildlife. She adored her two Maine Coon cats, Smokey and Meeka.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn with Chaplain Rick Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Hartwick Cemetery followed by a luncheon at Michael J. Manatt Community Center in Brooklyn. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 20th from 4-7 P.M., at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in honor of Pam to Poweshiek Animal League Shelter (PALS).
