Orlyn Vance (Timmy) Riess was born on April 2, 1928 in North English, IA, the son of Raymond F. and Ursel M. Markwell Riess. Orlyn grew up in North English and attended North English High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Orlyn farmed all of his life and raised Angus cattle. He enjoyed attending school sports activities and was very close to his great nieces and nephews. Orlyn was a member of the North English Christian Church. He died following a short illness on Thursday, November 30, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, IA. He lived 78 years, 7 months and 28 days. He is survived by his mother, Ursel Riess of North English, IA; a sister Bonnie Parker and her husband John of Burlington, IA; 3 nieces and 2 nephews; and 4 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
