WEST CHESTER - Orlin Daniel Reschly was born January 27, 1930 near Crawfordsville, Iowa the son of Harry and Fannie (Conrad) Reschly. He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1948 and was Valedictorian of his class. On August 31, 1952 he was united in marriage to Wilda Jean Chorpening at her parents home. He has lived and farmed in the West Chester community since his marriage. He accepted Christ as his Savior in his youth, and has been a member of the Wellman Mennonite Church for 45 years. Orlin died suddenly on Friday, June 10, 2011 at his home. He was 81 years old. Orlin is survived by a son Dan Reschly (Julie) of West Chester; a daughter Rachel Roth (Curtis) of Wellman; six grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; two sisters - Elsie Burkholder of Washington; Kathryn Lehman of Winona Lake, IN; and four brothers - Ben Reschly of Goshen, IN; Vernon Reschly of Nowata, OK; Marion Reschly of Crawfordsville; and Ray Reschly of Kalona. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant son Timothy; a great grandson Canaan Reschly; a sister Vera Buchanon; and a brother Willard Reschly. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the Wellman Mennonite Church in Wellman. Pastor Bob Hartzler will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Monday at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman where the family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A general memorial fund has been established.
