Opal Grove

Opal Ballard Beorkrem Grove, 96, passed away to be with her Lord on May 4, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Opal was born on July 5, 1920 near North English, Iowa, the daughter of John Newton & Bertha Stella (Riffle) Ballard. Opal graduated from South English High School. She was married to Eldon Beorkrem, and for many years she and Eldon owned and operated Eldon's Food Market in North English.
After Eldon's passing she eventually married Joe Grove of South English.
She is remembered for being a wonderful mother, pie maker and cook, and caregiver to all ages. Her lifetime pleasure was serving others.
Her children are Patricia Dobbins, Susan Sirls (husband Scot), Meri Coash (husband Jerry), and Deb Beorkrem (husband John Michelsen). She has four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husbands Eldon and Joe, her grandson Christopher Dobbins, all ten of her brothers and sisters, and her parents.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 am on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Powell Funeral Home, North English. Pastor Luke Caster will officiate. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery.
