Olive Basehore

Olive M. Basehore, formerly of Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania, died Monday, December 19, 2011, in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, on June 13, 1916, a daughter of William B. and Annie McKay Agnew. She married W. John Basehore. He preceded her in death September 17, 1960. She was a graduate of Meadville Commercial College and an employee of the U.S. Government for 21 years. She was a member of the Cambridge Springs Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and was active in the women's association. Survivors include daughters Jean (Kent) Thomson of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and Joy Bayshore of Iowa City; Iowa; three granddaughters, Emily Thomson and Andrea Viner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Sarah Tappendorf of Fishers, Indiana, a grandson Nathaniel Thomson of Des Moines, Iowa; two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons; and a brother Robert Agnew of Linesville, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Harold, John and Thomas Agnew. There will be no visitation or services in Iowa. Local arrangements will be handled by Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. A private burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Harmonsburg, Pennsylvania. Those arrangements are being handled by the Hathaway and Tedesco Funeral Home in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
