Williamsburg--Norma Larene Webert was born May 6, 1920, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Henry C. and Caroline (Sandersfeld) Schmidt. She attended rural school. Norma was united in marriage to Arnold E. Webert on January 16, 1941 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Norma and Arnold farmed and lived west of Williamsburg until moving to town in 1976. Norma enjoyed gardening, sewing, camping, playing cards and Dominos. She especially enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and family. Norma was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She volunteered at L.I.S and participated in church activities, including the Fellowship Club. Norma, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Mercy Hospital, in Iowa City, at the age of 91 years. She is survived by a daughter: Luanne and husband Eliseo Alcaraz of Cedar Hill, Texas; a son: Wayne and wife Linda Webert of Williamsburg; a daughter-in-law: Carol and husband Jon Eggert of Oxford; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren and a sister: Wanda Huedepohl. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arnold in 2008; a son Leland in 1991; a daughter Carolyn Middleton in 1984; a great grandson Adam Fitzsimmons in 2008; five brothers: Arnold, Ervin, Milton, Mellen and Orville Schmidt and a sister: Alma Stohlmann. Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, July 29, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. Pastor Carl Cloeter will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 PM at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
