Nola N. Truex, age 64, died Monday, December 4, 2006 following an extended illness at the Sigourney Care Center in Sigourney, IA. Her body was cremated and burial of her ashes will be at a later date in Essex, IA. There will be no visitation. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service, North English, is in charge of arrangements. She is survived by 4 children: Randy Smith of Erie, PA; Renee Robison (Dale) of Keswick, IA; Paul Michael Bradford (Heidi) of Ottumwa, IA; Tina Gard (Daniel) of Ottumwa, IA; 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Doyle Smith of Ottumwa, IA & Harry Smith of Coralville, IA; 2 sisters: Katherine Buckner of Sioux City, IA & Marcia Nye of Shenandoah, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, brothers Elmer, Donald, Paul & Kenneth Smith, and sisters Lois and Sharon Smith. She attended school in Shenandoah, IA. Nola worked at the Earl May Nurseries for many years in Shenandoah. She was married to Donald Reed and later divorced, to Paul Bradford and later divorced, and then married John Truex who preceded her in death. Besides living in Southwest Iowa, Nola lived in Independence, MO before moving to Keswick, IA in 1996. She was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church in Keswick.
