Neoma Ann Gott was born on August 25, 1940, near Ollie, IA, a daughter of Leslie and Margaret Wood Northup. She graduated from Ollie High School. On October 6, 1962, she was united in marriage to Thomas Gott in Missouri. They made their home in Sigourney until moving to North English in 1979. Neoma worked 20 years at Amana Refrigeration and retired in 1994. She enjoyed reading, doing word search puzzles, embroidery and being with her grandchildren. She became a resident of Colonial Manor of Amana in July 2008, and died there of cancer on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Colonial Manor of Amana. She lived 68 years and 29 days. She is survived by 3 daughters: Barbara Frese of North English, IA; Margaret (Mike) Earnest of Millersburg, IA; Leslie Gott of North English, IA; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 5 sisters: Betty Derby, Helen Follman and Mildred Follman all of Sigourney, IA; Louise Atchison of Oskaloosa, IA and Virginia Schmidt of Readlyn, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Kenny Frese Sr. and a brother William Northup. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 26, 2008, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English with Chaplain Thomas Walsh officiating. Visitation will be from 8:30 AM until service time at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 26, 2008. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery near Ollie, IA.
