Naomi Ellen Morrison

North English- Naomi Ellen Morrison was born October 17, 1926 near North English, Iowa, the daughter of Otto Earl & Melinda Effie (Norman) Lockridge. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1942. On August 12, 1945, Naomi was united in marriage to Warren Morrison in the White Pigeon Community. They lived in North English and Iowa City from 1966-1982, before returning to North English. She did baby sitting in her home and worked at Oral B, for 11 years. Naomi was a member of the North English Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, taking care of Merle and being a grandma. Naomi died on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the English Valley Care Center, at the age of 96 years.

She is survived by her children Joyce (Denny) Gibson of South English and Merle Morrison of Williamsburg; grandchildren David Huber, Warren (Carrie) Morrison, Misty Campbell, Deanna Kieffer, Jennifer (David Jo) Blaylock, Forrest (McKenzee) Gibson and Cedar (Randy) Simmons; sixteen great grandchildren; and twenty-one great, great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents; husband; a daughter Maxine Huber; a son Earl Morrison; son-in-law Jack Huber; daughter-in-law Betty Morrison; three sisters Mae Jones, Ethel McArtor and Marjorie Johnston; and a step-great grandson Joshua Wiebold.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the North English Christian Church in North English. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be on Friday, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home. A general memorial fund has been established.
