Nancy Kay Van Ersvelde

Nancy Kay Van Ersvelde, age 68, passed away on December 6, 2021 at REM-Iowa in Cedar Rapids of natural causes. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, Iowa. Burial will be in the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00–7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name.

Nancy is survived by her three siblings, Roger J. (Louise) Van Ersvelde of Brooklyn, Paul J. (Carol) Van Ersvelde of Grinnell, and Sara (Dave) Henderson of Bartlett, IL and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bruno J. and Lois (Doty) Van Ersvelde and a sister Martha Van Ersvelde.

Nancy Van Ersvelde was born September 27, 1953 at Saint Francis Hospital in Grinnell. She is the daughter of Bruno J. and Lois (Doty) Van Ersvelde. At age 3, Nancy entered the Glenwood State Hospital School on September 28, 1956, transferred to Woodward State Hospital School on May 9, 1980, transferred to REM-Iowa in Coralville on February 14, 1990 and transferred to REM-Iowa in Cedar Rapids on May 10, 2000 till she received her Heavenly Wings .
