Nancy Billingsley

Nancy Billingsley, 73, of Fairfield, IA, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at the Jefferson County Hospital. Open visitation will be held from 12:00 - 7:00 on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15th at the Hillsboro Cemetery with Pastor D.J. Meyers officiating. A memorial has been established and will be determined by the family at a later date. Born March 2, 1941 in Fairfield, IA, Nancy Louise was the daughter of Jasper Leroy and Annabelle Hagans Cook. She attended schools in Fairfield. On May 10, 1958, she married Kenneth E. Billingsley at the Fairfield Free Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2013. Nancy began her working career as a home health aide for Henderson County Health Department in Henderson, IL. When the couple moved she worked for the Purple Heart Organization in Maryland. Upon retun back to Iowa, she worked for the Iowa Workforce Development in Fairfield, IA. Always a homemaker, she tended to the needs of her family. An awesome cook, Nancy also enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables for her family. She enjoyed working on computers and played many computer games. Survivors include two sons, Kelly Billingsley of Fairfield, IA and Jim (Marsha) Billingsley of Oquawka, IL; two grandchildren, Donny (Jessica) Billingsley and Tyler (Amanda) Billingsley; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hayden, Greyson and Stella Kay; two brothers, Larry (Paula) Cook of New London, IA and John (Najla) Cook of Laytonsville, MD; and two sisters, Linda Gridley of Fairfield, IA and Joyce Morkin of Palmyra, MO. Preceding her in death are her parents; and husband, Kenneth.
