Nadine E. Kyle, 65, of Mt. Pleasant, IA peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, September 20, 2013, after an eighteen month battle with cancer. Visitation will begin after 12 noon on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Elm Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established to HCI Care Services (Hospice of Central Iowa) and Henry County Animal Rescue Organization. The daughter of William S. and Vera Elizabeth Darbyshire Kyle, Nadine Elizabeth was born September 18, 1948 in Washington, IA. During her high school years, she worked at the family drug store, Kyle Drug. A graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community High School, Nadine attended college at Southeastern Community College, University of Iowa, and Iowa Wesleyan College. From 1972 until 1987, she lived in Dallas, TX, where she was an accounting clerk for Morton Foods and Frito-Lay. She then returned to Mt. Pleasant where she has resided ever since. Following her return to Mt. Pleasant, Nadine worked as a library technician at Iowa Wesleyan College for over 25 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Nadine displayed her love of animals by being a member of the Henry County Animal Rescue Organization and by adopting several furry friends over the years. Nadine was the family care giver and took an active role in the lives of her nieces and nephews. She also served as her family's historian. Survivors include 3 brothers, Gary Kyle of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Ronald (Jacque) Kyle of Windom, TX and Richard (Debbie) Kyle of Wever, IA; three nephews, Erik (Leslie), Jason (Nichole) and Dallas Kyle; two nieces, Michelle (Dave) Giese and Holly (Rich) Kyle-Mills; three great-nephews, Tyler and Andrew Giese, and Jason Kyle, Jr.; and seven great-nieces, Ellen, Kathleen, Danielle, Sierra, Jordan and Kaitlyn Kyle, along with Kaylie and Trinity Mills. Preceding Nadine in death were her parents.
