Myron Richard Bohrn

June 24, 1931 — December 14, 2020

Millersburg- Myron Richard Bohrn was born June 24, 1931 in Deep River, Iowa, the son of James Amos and Sylvia Pearl (Endicott) Bohrn. He grew up in North English, and graduated from North English High School. Myron was united in marriage to the love of his life, Inez Doehrmann on September 25, 1951, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. To this union they were blessed with 4 sons. They lived in Hartwick for 9 years before moving to Williamsburg in 1963. Myron was a carpenter, farmer and worked at Conroy Co-op for 28 years. Inez passed away on February 10, 2011. He later met Eunice Holderness who is also the love of his life, they have enjoyed their time together. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher for 30 plus years. Myron enjoyed working with his hands, hunting, fishing, listening to Blue Grass, singing, and calling square dancing. Myron never met a stranger and was always wanting to give to others in need. Myron passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020, at the Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo at the age of 89.

He is survived by his three sons, Rodger Allen (Cindy) Bohrn of Williamsburg, Richard Myron (Nancy) Bohrn of Iowa City and Randy Lee Bohrn of North English; a daughter-in-law, Linda Bohrn Miller of Spanaway, Washington; 5 grandchildren; 1 step granddaughter; 15 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; 3 brothers, William Bohrn of Jackson, Mississippi, Harold Bohrn of Marengo and Morris (Fay) Bohrn of West Amana and the second love of his life Eunice Holderness of Millersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Inez, son Rickey Dean Bohrn, a brother George Bohrn and 3 sisters Doris Strasser, Helen Strasser and an infant Hazel.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. The service will be live streamed on our Powell Funeral Home face book page and website. Visitation will be at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Friday from 2:00 to 7:00 pm, the family will be present from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Please practice social distancing and masks are required for visitation and the funeral service. A memorial fund has been established for the Lutheran Interparish School or St. Paul Lutheran Church, the memorials may be sent to Powell Funeral Home, PO Box 269, Williamsburg, Iowa 52361.
