Moran "M.M." Doan

Moran Montgomery Doan, Jr., 86, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at the Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Edward Newman officiating. Memorials have been established to the Park Place Long Term Care Unit. Moran was born May 30, 1922, the son of Moran M. and Elsie Marie Hammons Doan in Hillsboro Iowa. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and served in the United States Army during World War II. Moran married Wilma Howe on March 28, 1951. They lived in Hillsboro and farmed east of town for many years. After retirement, they spent many happy years in Mesa, Arizona. Wilma preceded him in death on November 11, 2007. Moran is survived by one sister, Verda Boley of Hillsboro, IA, and one brother, D T (Barbara) Doan of Des Moines, IA. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, Wilma, he was preceded in death by his parents.
