Minnie M. Knepp

Texas- Minnie Magdalena Knepp, 88, of Troy Texas, formerly of Kalona, passed away Saturday March 6, 2021 at her residence in Troy. Minnie was born September 16, 1932 in rural Wellman, Iowa. The daughter of Clark and Louisa (Swartzendruber) Gingerich. Minnie attended White Hall Elementary, Iowa Mennonite School, and a few classes at the University of Juneau, Alaska. She was united in marriage to Donald Knepp on June 26, 1949 at her parents home in rural Wellman. To this union they were blessed with three children, Mary Lee, Kenneth, and Rodney. Minnie ran and operated the Café in Keystone for many years. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, traveling, quilting, and her stamp and coin collections.

Minnie is survived by 3 children: Mary Lee Knepp of Troy, TX, Kenneth Knepp of Dysart, IA, Rodney (Lori) Knepp of Martelle, IA; 5 grandchildren: Tiffany Hensley, Tim Hensley, David Knepp, Cody Parr and Megan Parr; 3 great grandchildren: Blake White, Jonathan White, Caitlyn (Wyatt) Sill; and 6 great great grandchildren: Reighleigh, Brantly, Tatum, Macy,Hudson, and Ezekiel; a brother: Donald (Wilma) Gingerich, 3 sisters: Doris Nafziger, Mary Hickman, and Mollie (Roy) Miller. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends from all over the country and Europe. (Those by trekking along with the US army with her husband who served for 21 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2017, and two brothers in-law.

Celebration Of Life Service will be held 10:30 am Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be held in Sharon Hill Cemetery.
