Mildred L. Peachey

WELLMAN - Mildred L. Peachey, 88 of Wellman, formerly of Wooster, Ohio, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Parkview in Wellman. Celebration Of Life Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be at Crown Hill Mennonite Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Visitation will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 9 to 11 AM at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established for Mennonite Mission Network. Mildred L. Peachey was born January 27, 1928 the daughter of Alvin G. and Sadie (Huntsberger) Brenneman in rural Orrville, Ohio. She was a 1947 graduate of Orrville High School. Mildred worked for the Kopper's Company and Hagon Corporation, both of Orrville. On November 10, 1949 she was united in marriage to John Peachey at Crown Hill Mennonite Church in Rittman, Ohio. They farmed together at Rittman and Creston, retiring in 1994 to Wooster Township. Mildred was active in the Rittman Old People's Home Auxiliary and the Westview Garden Club. She was a member of Wooster Mennonite Church where she served as Sunday school teacher, women's fellowship, WMSC, food committee, and ICU visiting ministry, and volunteered at World Craft in Kidron, Ohio. In 2000 John and Mildred moved to Wellman, Iowa where she attended Kalona Mennonite Church and was a member of the Mennonite Women Sewing Circle. Mildred enjoyed going to the Senior Center for meals.

Mildred is survived by her daughter Beth and husband Marcus Miller of Wellman, son Bob and wife Brenda Peachey of Milton-Freewater, Oregon; five grandchildren; Erin Miller Milanese, Dirk Miller, Anna Maire Peachey, Amber Peachey and Michael Peachey, a sister Esther Yoder of Aroda, Virginia, two brothers; Paul and wife Evelyn Brenneman and Alvin Jr. and wife Marie Brenneman all of Orrville, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2004, 3 brothers-in-law; Chester Yoder, Urie Peachey and Sanford Peachey.
