Mildred Faye Struble was born on November 29, 1916 in Salineville, OH, a daughter of Alansas (Lance) B. and Laura Mary McCully Finnicum. She grew up and attended school in Ohio. During WWII she worked for the war effort building aircraft in Ohio and later in California. After the war she returned to Ohio and was united in marriage to Charles Ellison Struble in Millport, Ohio on January 19, 1946. They moved to Iowa County, IA where they farmed until moving into Keswick in 1977. Mildred was a member of the Keswick United Methodist Church where she was active in the UMW. She was a member of the American Legion James Murphy Post #139 Auxiliary and a past member of the Garden Club. Charles preceded her in death on March 3, 2005. Mildred became a resident of the English Valley Care Center in North English in December 2001. Mildred died following a brief illness on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Care Center. She lived 90 years and 3 days. She is survived by 3 children: Patricia (Don) Buswell of Iowa City, IA, Ronald (Deann) Struble of Manchester, IA and Janice (Don) Henry of Montezuma, IA; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister Ruth Devitt of E. Canton, OH, a sister-in-law Leona Finnicum of Astatula, FL; and a brother-in-law Lyle Strasser of Sigourney, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Mary Heim and Margaret Grace Betz, brothers Forrest Finnicum, Charles Finnicum and Olen Finnicum. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at the United Methodist Church in Keswick. Pastor Dick Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Sorden Cemetery near Webster. Visitation for Mildred will be from 5 Pm to 7 PM on Monday, December 4, 2006 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English.
