Williamsburg- Mildred Dorothea Trimpe, was born November 16, 1924, in Deep River Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa, the daughter of William J. and Maria Anna (Burke) Jahlas. On April 26, 1943, she was united in marriage to Paul George Trimpe at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Victor, Iowa. They bought their farm west of Williamsburg in 1947 and lived and farmed there until 1960 when they moved into town. She worked at Shellady's Grocery for a number of years, the South Amana Bakery for 4 years and Amana Refrigeration as a 2nd class inspector for 16 years, retiring in 1982. Mildred was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, where in the past has been a member of the Women's Guild, Altar Guild and the Fellowship Club. She enjoyed cooking, camping, quilting, sewing and spending time with her family. Mildred died on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at the Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg at the age of 87 years and 11 months. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Paul of Williamsburg; three children: Allen (Carol) Trimpe of Shawnee, Kansas, Sharon (Warren) Pillard of Keokuk, Iowa and Shirley (Rev. Thomas) Brazinsky of Baroda, Michigan; 7 grandchildren: Lisa (Dave) Periolat, Chris Trimpe, Marci (David) Flint, Stephanie (Brent) Range, Carrie (Greg) Helmers, Anne (Eric) Glessner and Timothy Brazinsky; 7 great grandchildren: Jonah, Sydney, Portland, Emma, Thad, Lila and Olivia; 1 brother: LaVerne (Earlene) Jahlas of Victor; and 2 sisters: Marie Trimpe (her twin) of Williamsburg and Esther (Vernon) Sandersfeld of Homestead. She was preceded by her parents and 3 brothers: Harold Jahlas, Raymond Jahlas, William H Jahlas. Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. Rev. Carl Cloeter will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 P.M. at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
