IOWA CITY-Michael LeRoy Lillig, age 63, of Iowa City, died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, from complications of a stroke. Mick was born July 6, 1941, in Keota, to Frank and Veronica (Woltering) Lillig and graduated from Keota High School in 1959. On July 6, 1963, he married Jayne Coffman at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. The couple lived in Keota until moving to Iowa City in 1994. Mick worked for River Products Company for 41 years, where he was a board member, director, vice president and co-owner. Mick was also president of Shamrock Construction, LLC and vice president of Petroleum Services Company. He was a member of the following industry organizations: Iowa Limestone Producers Association, Associated General Contractors of Iowa, Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa and the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association. He was also a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Iowa City. Survivors include his wife: Jayne of Iowa City; three sisters: Anna Altenhofen of Kellogg, Barbara Lyle of Sigourney and Mary Jane Shaffer of Washington; a brother-in-law: James Coffman and wife Claudette of Iowa City; a daughter-in-law: Teresa Lillig Lineer; his mother-in-law: Lillian Coffman of Keota; seven aunts and uncles, including special aunt and uncle, Margaret and LeRoy Lillig; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Christopher in 1996 and father-in-law: James Coffman, Sr. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2004, at the Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota with Rev. Marty Goetz of St. Mary Church in Keota and Rev. Rudolph Juarez of St. Patrick's Church in Iowa City officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mick's name. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.
