KALONA - Menno L. Miller, 82, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 from a sudden illness in Phoenix, AZ. He was born on November 20, 1933 to Lewis L. and Fannie Miller near Kalona Iowa. He accepted Christ as his personal savior in his youth and was member of the Sharon Bethel Church in Kalona Iowa. He was married to Elizabeth Chupp on November 20, 1958 in Chouteau OK. He was a farmer in the Wellman area. After retiring from farming, he served the Amish community by taking them to their appointments and sightseeing both in Iowa and Arizona. He loved meeting new people in his travels, and to see who they knew. He took great joy in church singing events and would not miss one.
Menno is survived by his wife Elizabeth of Kalona IA, 3 sons Nelson (Glenda) of Faye, OK, Lloyd of Mountridge, KS, Larry of Wellman, 4 daughters Lovina (Gerry) Mauro of Glendale, AZ, Ruth (Manuel) Miller of Wellman, IA, LaVertta (Randy) Hochstetler of Grabill, IN, Lucille Miller of Kalona, IA, 10 grandchildren, Jordan, Brooke, Dakota, Summer, Tristan, Alisha, Teresa, Madison, Trevor, Aubrie; 2 sisters Katie Ann (Dennis) Shetler of Kalona, IA, Mattie (Joe) Yoder Colon, MI, 2 brothers Wilson (Lois) Miller Kalona, IA, and Fred (Ida Ellen) Miller Nashville, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchild Brittany Hochstetler of Grabille, IN, brother Junior of Phoenix, AZ and sister Cleola Yoder Austin, MN.
The family would like to thank each and everyone for there love prayers, support and kindness thru this difficult time.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Fairview Mennonite Church in rural Kalona. Burial will be in the Sharon Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Fairview Mennonite Church where the family will greet friends from 12-4 and 6-8 PM.
