Melvin Elroy Stull was born March 19, 1924 near Webster, Iowa the son of Samuel and Jenny (Bradley) Stull. He attended rural country school. In 1942 he was united in marriage to June Dorsey in Indiana. He served in the Army during WWII from 1943 - 1946 he was in the European Theater. Melvin and June had two sons. June died on April 16, 1965. Melvin was then united in marriage to Betty Cheney at the Lancaster Christian Church near Sigourney in December of 1965. Melvin lived and farmed northwest of Sigourney for 56 years. Melvin died on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City following a brief illness at the age of 81 years. Melvin is survived by two sons - Mark Stull and wife Susan of Webster; Martin Stull of Sigourney; a granddaughter - Amanda Stull of Keswick; a brother - Sam Stull Jr. Of Sigourney; and a sister - Minnie Striegel of Sigourney. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; two brothers - Christopher Stull, Warren "Shorty" Stull; and two sisters - Alice Doolin and Audrey Barnhart.
